Overview & Problem Statement

The Forresta Kitchen and Bar is a forest theme multi-cuisine restaurant in the Pink City (Jaipur) of India. The restaurant opened to huge crowds and rave reviews in the Pink City, Jaipur, in 2009. It was the town’s favourite because of its excellent food and elegant outdoor ambience.

By 2012, however, there was a sudden spurt of restaurants at every nook and corner in Jaipur, with similar food and ambience. Forresta Kitchen and Bar wanted to reassert its position.

The goal was to create Forresta Kitchen and Bar’s brand on social media.

User & Audience

The restaurant’s indoor and outdoor dining, lounge area, and bar patio served as formal dining, drinks place post-work and a café hangout.

Roles & Responsibilities

I was the copywriter and social media manager in charge of Forresta’s account. I worked with a team of graphic designers and senior management.

Process & What I Did

1.     I created social media content with help from designers for some amazing pictures. The idea was to showcase what’s on the menu and create brand recall whenever people are thinking about eating out.

2.     Collaborative events with big brands in the food and beverage industry: Kingfisher BeerUp and Harley Davidson Rajasthan’s launch party. I led a small team of photographers and other copywriters to create buzz on social media before the event, Live tweeted these events and later wrote blogs for the event to be also used by us and the PR team of respective brands.

3.     Cross-platform branding of Forresta restaurant on Jaipur city’s local lifestyle blog, Jaipur Beat, with a connected follower
base of over 100,000 subscribers. People look up the city’s hot spots on Jaipur Beat. I frequently featured Forresta in Jaipur Beat’s blogs as the perfect place for dinner dates, weekend drinks with friends, among others.

4.     Diner engagement through tie-ups and invitations to popular food bloggers of Jaipur

Outcome & Results

1.     We logged close to 100 table reservation requests, opening hours inquiries, and special requests from diners in 2014

2.     Forresta’s Facebook fan base (number of page likes) grew from 1800 to 4000 between September 2013 and August 2014
